Air Radar is a wireless network scanner for the Mac. It allows you to scan for wireless networks within reach of your Mac and it displays relevant information about them.

You can use this app to connect to any network. If the network is not open (it is secured with a password), AirRadar will ask you for the password before connecting.

There are a few interesting features to note. The first one of them, and the one I liked the most, was the feature that uses text-to-speech technology to read the names of open networks when a scan is started. This is a great feature for when you aren't looking at the screen and need a nice, quick notification. AirRadar can also be used to automatically connect to an open network. You can even specify the signal quality that you want the network to have. The app also supports Growl, so notifications work out of the box.

I tested AirRadar by comparing it to KisMAC and seeing how many networks both apps found. I am glad to say that AirRadar seems to do a great job at finding networks, matching KisMAC in the number of networks found. I also didn't have any problems connecting to open networks and the app was responsive at all times.
