New products Apple will (likely) release in 2024 New products Apple will (likely) release in 2024

In 2023, there was no shortage of Apple product news. Some were rather expected, like the new next generation of iPhones, others – long-awaited, like iMac and MacBook Pro powered by the new M3 chip. Still, many items from the company’s portfolio remained largely unchanged. Will we see that corrected in 2024? Read on for a roundup of what Apple, allegedly, will release in the coming year.

Apple Vision Pro VR headset

This is a brand new product for Apple. Announced in the middle of 2023, Vision Pro headset arrives in early 2024. The company calls it “the first spatial computer,” claiming it's not just for entertainment but for work, too. It is a dual mode headset, which means it can do both VR and AR, and augmented reality is widely used in applications built for logistics, warehousing, industrial production, etc.

The price is said to be US$ 3,500, which somewhat limits the audience of this device, but selling it at this point may be a cunning plan, cutting off clientele that won’t be willing to pony up subscriptions that are sure to follow suit. On the other hand, given the OLED displays, M2 and R2 chips, dedicated 10-core graphics processor, and high quality of all other components, it may be just right.

New iPhones of 2024

There is a plan to release iPhone 16, of course, and several models thereof. Highly likely, all of them will be powered by M3 chips, not just the Pro line, as is the case with iPhone 15. The cameras are expected to be positioned in a way allowing to capture so-called spatial (3D, essentially) videos. Rumors also have Apple releasing the next generation of iPhone SE in 2024, which will probably get bigger screens and grow more powerful overall.

iPads in 2024

First off, there's the iPad Mini, which hasn't been updated since 2022. With Apple holding a firm grip on over 37% of the world's tablet market, it is likely this product will evolve to the next generation in 2024.

The news about the iPad Pro are more concrete. In the upcoming year, this device:

- comes in updated 3-inch and 11.1-inch sizes;

- receives OLED displays;

- will possibly have an M3 chip under the hood.

Apple AirPods in 2024

AirPods of 2024 will have shorter stems, better fit and audio quality. More importantly, there are expected to be two versions thereof, (that’s not counting AirPods Pro). The price points will be different; the more expensive model will get Active Noise Cancellation, and both will be chargeable through a USB-C port, not Lightning.

The upcoming 2024 will be an anniversary year for Apple Watch. Thus, we are expecting the 10th generation of this product, with a slimmer body, new design, and a new magnetic band. The internals are also likely to be upgraded, first off, to accommodate a larger battery, and secondly, to enable blood pressure and sleep apnea monitoring functions.

M3 chip in the remaining Macs

Earlier this year, Apple released iMac and MacBook Pro with its latest M3 chip inside. Now, it's time for the remaining larger hardware to get this tech, too. We expect that in 2024, the company will give us M3-powered iMacs, Mac mini, and MacBook Air.
