New Apple products to be shown at 2024 September event New Apple products to be shown at 2024 September event

Apple rocks steady. It feels like the late Steve Jobs, the genius he was, left them a detailed plan covering at least half a century, and they are following it. Every year, the company presents new models of their products that are already available commercially, and, sometimes, brand new items that, typically, revolutionize or disrupt this or that field. The iPod did that, and the iPhone, and, most recently, the Vision Pro spatial computer.

Apple usually stages several shows a year to give us new stuff. This year, we’ve seen two already, one in May (introduced new iPads), the other in June (Worldwide Developers Conference, or WWDC). The September event is typically about iPhones. Here’s a scoop of what’s known so far about Apple’s plans for that one.

New iPhone 16 Models

Apple is expected to unveil four new iPhone 16 models at its September 2024 event:

– iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus: the base models will feature a redesigned vertical camera stack to enable 3D spatial video recording supported by the Vision Pro headset; there will be a new dedicated capture button for photos and videos. iPhone 16 will come in 7 colors: blue, green, yellow, pink, purple, white, and black.

– iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max: the Pro models will have slightly larger 6.3" and 6.9" displays with thinner edges. Apple plans on equipping them with the best cameras yet, including a 48MP ultra wide sensor and 5x telephoto zoom for the smaller Pro. As for the esthetics, the palette is rumored to be extended with a new rose gold color.

Apple Watch Series 10

Apple is expected to launch the Apple Watch Series 10 alongside the new iPhones. Details are scarce, but it will likely include incremental improvements over the Series 9 models.

New AirPods Models

Apple usually refreshes its AirPods line together with new iPhones, so we can expect updated AirPods Pro and AirPods Max models with USB-C charging ports.

New iPad Models

Apple may unveil new iPad Pro and iPad Air models with M4 chips, but this is more of a rumor than a piece of news based on some factual information. In the same line, the iPad Pro is likely to get a slightly better camera and a performance boost.

iMac Pro?

More rumors: a larger 32" iMac Pro with an M4 chip and tons of ports is believed to be in the works. It could be launched this year; the target audience for the computer isn’t massive, since it feels like the size of the screen will be the only tangible difference from the 24" model.

Stay tuned! We’re monitoring the news for you; whatever interesting comes up, we’ll pack it into the next scoop covering this subject.
