WinX DVD Ripper for Mac is a DVD movie ripper for the Mac. It allows you to copy your DVD movies onto your hard drive in a variety of different formats. For all those who have used a WinX ripper on Windows before, you should know that this is identical to that app in most aspects. The graphical user interface wasn't changed at all for the transition to Mac. It is identical to the Windows one, except for a few buttons, perhaps. The app still works as well as its Windows counterpart.
When you load a DVD movie on this app, you will see a list of titles and some information about them. These titles make up your DVD movies. In the case of movies, a long title will be the main window, while the smaller ones are probably trailers or extra scenes. In the case of TV DVDs, you will see 40-minute titles. You can select as many titles as you want, and they will all be converted to the format you choose at the bottom part of the screen. The supported formats are MP3, MPEG, FLV, AVI, MOV, and a few music formats, such as MP3 and WAV. There is support for a few devices, with customized conversion profiles designed for them. The available devices are iPhone, iPad, iPod, AppleTV, and PSP.
This ripper works very well. It is fast and the resulting files play well. My only complaint is that the user interface doesn't look as Mac at all. You can't even access the Preferences window from the Mac menu, you have to click on the "Options" button on the GUI, which is more fitting for a Windows app than a Mac one.
