Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 6 6.6

Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate is Xilisoft's top-of-the-line video converter. It has excellent format support. It can open all the popular video formats, including AVI, XviD, DivX, MPEG-4, H.264, MOV, MKV, FLV, 3GP, and many more and it can convert those formats to an array of other formats. It has advanced video editing features. It comes packed with a video trimmer that lets you clip your videos and make new segments out of them, a video cropper and an editor that lets you add effects to your videos, touch up their brightness, contrast, saturation, etc, and add watermarks. The app also comes with a few different features for image conversion and recognition.

The graphical user interface looks the same in the three different versions of this app: Standard, Platinum and Ultimate. Of course, the Ultimate version has more buttons for the different features that it comes with, but that is pretty much the only aesthetic change. In terms of performance, the three versions are identical. I was expecting GPU acceleration from this version, but that doesn't seem to be available on the Mac. The Windows versions do have it.

All in all, Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate is the most complete general purpose video converter from Xilisoft. It comes with lots of features, it works well and looks nice. I guess it is up to you, the user, to determine whether it is worth the $59.95 that it costs.
