WhatSize is a disk usage utility designed for Mac. Besides helping you view and manage disk space usage, this application also provides you with a simple and quick solution for finding and deleting unnecessary duplicates and junk files from your computer.
All you need to do in order to analyze the space usage of a certain disk is to simply select a partition, connected external storage devices or local folder from the left side of the main window. The program will immediately start examine the chosen disk or directory and reveal the necessary information.
You can choose between 4 display modes for the resulted statistics: Browser, Outline, Table, and PieChart. Personally, I prefer the latter as it gives you a better look at the files and folders that take out the most of your disk space. Plus, it's more appealing than the rest of the display modes.
The utility is also capable of finding and deleting junk data (temporary files, cache, log files, etc.) and unneeded duplicated files from your computer.
My only concern regarding this application is the fact that it occasionally runs slow. This usually happens when I import local folders for scanning or browse directories.
Still, this program is one of the best disk usage analyzers I used on my Mac so far. It's effective, easy-to-use, and affordable.
