uTorrent Web is intended to download files shared using a popular P2P protocol. The application has the characteristic of having a web-based interface that connects to a server running under the hood. Although there is no difficulty involved in using this software, it is quite convenient that there is a video tutorial to show you the way.
The welcome screen looks rather similar to that of a search engine, and, in a certain sense, it serves a similar purpose, as it lets you find available torrents. Moreover, the tool also allows starting to download torrents in three other ways. In this regard, you can simply drag and drop a torrent file onto the marked region. Likewise, it is possible to browse for the desired file or paste a link.
The web application’s main page shows a list of the contents being transferred, showing their status. A torrent file is downloaded by pieces, which are not consecutive and therefore normally impede the playback of video and audio. However, uTorrent Web can play the available chunks even before the file is fully downloaded. Luckily, the audio and video files are played inside the browser without the need of a third-party application. It is also good that it can display subtitles if they are available in the downloaded package.
The tool’s settings can be changed very easily. For instance, you can make it start automatically with the system. Moreover, it is possible to show each download job in a separate browser tab and set a default download folder. Likewise, you can manage bandwidth to fit your priorities. more
