uBar 3.2

uBar is a program that replaces the Dock on the bottom of your desktop and gives you quick access to the applications you're working with.

The utility looks a lot like the Status Bar from the Windows operating systems as it provides you with an easy way to access your Applications folder and shut down or restart your Mac.

The Welcome screen displays two options which need to be enabled in order to use uBar. You need to grant accessibility permission to the program from the System Preferenes app and hide the Dock from your screen. Afterwards, you can start using uBar to access your favorite files, immediately launch programs, etc.

Furthermore, you can change the items from the main menu of the program. The utility allows you to choose which folders to be displayed on the main menu of the app. You can add as many directories as you like to the app's menu.

Like the Windows status bar, this program also displays a small clock and a calendar on the bottom-right side of your desktop.

The one thing I'd add to this program would be an option to reposition the Dock back to its last location after uBar is shut down. The Dock remains hidden on the right side of the desktop after you close uBar. Still, this aspect isn't a big deal.

In conclusion, uBar comes as a simple and efficient alternative to using the Dock on your Mac. The application is very easy to handle, provides you with plenty of useful options, and comes with a reasonable price. So, it's definitely worth giving it a try, especially if you switched from a Windows PC to a Mac.
