Tweeten 5.1

Free
Provides a column-based interface for your Twitter account.

Tweeten helps you increase your productivity and provides you with a better experience as a Twitter user. The application is based in TweetDeck but provides much more than a simple column-based interface. It comes with some appreciated features, such as video and GIF downloading and integrated emoji search.

Tweeten has a nice interface available in a white and a black theme. However, I found it quite annoying that the whole app reloads every time you switch themes, which makes you waste a lot of precious time. The interface is characterized by the use of columns that you can manage to show whatever is of your interest. Thus, you can display a different category in each column. For instance, along with recent tweets, you can also receive alerts and messages as well as view reports of activities.

Good news is that everything in the interface is customizable. This way, it is possible to change column width or use larger fonts, for example. Moreover, the tool lets you filter out undesired topics based on hashtags or sender. It is also excellent that you are allowed to open various Twitter accounts simultaneously, and that, unlike the web app, you do not need to refresh the page to update the contents.

Tweeten allows posting messages, but what is convenient about this is that you can easily pick and include the desired emojis. Likewise, it comes with lots of advantages regarding the use of GIFs. In this regard, there is a built-in GIF search features that is based on Giphy. Just like with emojis, you are free to use the GIFs in your posts. Similarly, the tool lets you download any GIF and even video clips.

All in all, Tweeten is more comfortable to use than the native Twitter interface. Although it is based on TweetDeck, it is more customizable and comes with additional features, like emoji and GIF search or video downloads. This product is opensource, and it will not cost you a dime to give it a try.
