Tipard iPod Converter Suite for Mac 3.6

Tipard iPod Converter Suite for Mac combines both a video converter and a DVD ripper so that you can enjoy all of your video content on the smaller screen of your iPod Touch and other devices that support the H.264 and MPEG-4 formats.

Any Apple device will play the files converted or ripped using these tools just fine, and so will other non-Apple devices.

When you run this app, you will be welcomed by a launcher, from where you can access the two applications that make up this suite: Tipard DVD to iPod Converter for Mac and Tipard iPod Video Converter for Mac. Each one will be opened in a separate screen, but you can't run them at the same time. Both apps include a video editor that can be used to carry out basic editing tasks such as cropping, trimming and adjusting brightness, contrast and saturation. The editor is pretty standard but it works quite well.

During my testing of this app, I worked mostly with the video converter. I tested it with an MKV file and an H.264 file. Both loaded just fine. The MKV file was 720p in resolution, and the app handled it very well. For files with multiple audio tracks, you can choose which one you want to use, but the app can't detect subtitle tracks, which is a letdown. I converted the files to H.264 for the iPod Touch using one of the conversion profiles. I also trimmed my video to a 1-minute long clip, which was successfully converted in less than 20 seconds.
