Swinsian is a nicely-designed program that comes as an alternative to listening to music tracks with iTunes (Mac's default music player).
You can import music files from your iTunes library or any directory within your Mac, use the built-in search tool to find tracks from your playlist, fetch album artwork for any tune, and much more. The program also enables you to define global hotkeys for easier player control (play or pause song, increase volume, etc.).
Another advantage is that the app provides you with an option to monitor music folders on your Mac. By doing so, every time you copy a new song to a monitored directory, Swinsian automatically imports the tune into its music library.
I also like the fact that you can edit metadata for any song within Swinsian's libraries.
To conclude, I'd say it's worth acquiring this music player for your Mac as it supports more formats than iTunes, lets you create and export playlists, and much more. Plus, it comes with a very reasonable price.
