Smart Countdown Timer is an easy-to-use application that keeps you informed about the remaining time until the occurrence of a certain event.

The tool installs in the menu bar of your Mac, but it can also have a Dock icon so you can enable the countdown with ease whenever the situation requires it.

The tool has an attractive interface and supports resizing to fit your needs. The appearance of the main window can be set according to your preferences. The tool comes with two themes, Light and Dark, that you can easily switch between. However, you can add a background image of your own by browsing your photo library from within the application. Starting the countdown can be enabled either manually or automatically when changing the time or on the app's launch. Obviously, you can set the program to prevent your Mac from entering the sleep mode while the countdown is in progress. Besides being displayed on the main window, the remaining time can also appear in the menu bar and in the Dock icon. When the countdown completes, you will be notified both acoustically and visually, unless you disable one of the notification modes. Therefore, you have the ability to select your favorite sound alert out of multiple available tones. The visual notifications can take the appearance of a popup window or a bouncing Dock icon.

Just like any other timer, this application does nothing but count down the time you set. What distinguishes it from similar tools is the ability to customize the main window's appearance according to your liking, so you can enjoy a better counting down experience.
