Neatberry's Sketcher is a powerful, yet easy to use piece of software, which you can use when you need to turn an image into a painting.
The application features a simple and well designed interface for the job making it quite straightforward to use; in fact all you need to do is drag and drop an image onto its layout, move some sliders and turn into a digital expressionist painter.

Sketcher includes a choice of four filters (pencil, watercolor, pastel and oil) and for each filter associated stroke, brush, strength and other customizable parameters. The output is indeed quite surprising as multiple canvas / paper types (grained canvas, watercolor paper, pastel paper, linen canvas and more) will turn the original image into a work of art.

Users can save their work as a project and reload with full control over all parameters at any time or directly as an image that they can share with their friends.

Sketcher provides a simple yet flexible tool for converting images to painting / pencil drawing like output.

This application looks like a part of Photoshop taken out and put into borders of a separate application. If the only things you need is to make your photo look like a painting or a picture in pencil, Sketcher is quite handy. It is lighter than Photoshop, that is one of the reasons why I like it.
