This Mac utility enables you to record audio content on your computer. It might prove to be of good use if you need to record an audiobook, voice instructions for a video tutorial or a Skype conference.
The application lives on your Menu Bar from where you can change the way it operates and start or stop audio recordings. You can choose between 2 output formats (M4A or MP3), set the preferred sound volume, and easily configure the program's settings according to your needs (set bit rate, sample rate, and channel type).
In my testing, the program worked great. It used a very small amount of CPU resources while recording audio content and immediately generated the quality output files I needed.
This new version brings you a new icon design, the ability to define global hotkeys, options to set bit rate and input volume, and various bug fixes.
Still, the application is missing some important features. It doesn't provide you with audio editing options which might come in handy if you want to merge multiple recordings or trim the resulted audio files. The utility also supports only 2 output formats: M4A and MP3.
But it's worth giving this program a try on your Mac if the aforementioned don't mean that much to you.
