Simple Recorder is a Mac program that lives on your Menu Bar and provides you with an easy way to capture sound content on your computer. The application might come in handy if you need to immediately record soundtracks from movies, audio content from a video conference, etc.
This utility comes with easy-to-configure settings, so you don't need to be an expert computer user to handle it on your Mac. Simply go to its menu from the status bar, click the Record and Stop buttons, select a destination folder for your audio file, and that's it.
You can also control the way this program operates from your Dock. Just click on its Dock icon whenever you wish to start or stop audio recordings.
Unfortunately, the application brings several disadvantages. For starters, it lacks audio editing options which would definitely come in handy once you finish recording (insert or trim silence segments, add audio effects, etc.). Furthermore, it supports only 2 output formats: M4A and MP3.
Another aspect that bothers me is that you need to make an in-app purchase in order to unlock all features. Until you make the purchase, you can export the audio recording to only one format (M4A), and you cannot save the file to your cloud storage account.
All in all, I think you can find better solutions for recording audio content on your computer.
Record audio content on your Mac and export the results to various formats.
