Screen Tennis lets you play a game of Pong on your desktop. Pong is an old computer game that simulates a game of 2D table tennis.

The game consists of two paddles, one on each side of the screen. There is a ball that you need to hit with your paddle. If your opponent can't return the ball to you, a point will be added to your score. In this variant of Pong, you never seem to win or lose. When I played the game for the first time, I was losing by 15 to 0 at one point. Every time a point is scored, the ball appears again in the middle of the screen and it moves towards your direction, so you need to be fast to react not to concede a goal in quick succession. You can play this game against a computer opponent or a friend on the same computer.

Screen Tennis has a few flaws. First, the game never speeds up to a point where it is challenging to play. The first point that I played went on for 4 or 5 minutes before I became uninterested. After I conceded a few goals the ball moved a bit faster, but I don't know what caused that. The second flaw, which can be a consequence of the first one, is that the computer opponent never misses the ball. So, the game becomes boring. There is a third flaw that doesn't have anything to do with gameplay. When I launched the "About Window" the game paused, but it resumed before I quit that screen. And when I tried to quit it, it would not quit. It just got stuck there in the middle of the screen.
