PTPublisher is intended to perform various disc-related operations, such as burning data, copying images and printing covers. It is powered by Roxio, which is one of the most widely used burn engines. The application has a nice tabbed interface, which makes it practically impossible to get lost. Moreover, once you pick the desired function, you are always guided by wizards.

It is excellent that PTPublisher can do almost everything necessary to create a disc. In this regard, it supports creating a data project, in which a disc is used as a standard storage device, for any file type and with a given folder structure. For more specific types of data, it lets you create audio CDs, which are playable on any disc player. Likewise, it can burn DVD and Blu-ray video discs. In both cases, the application takes care of converting the source files to the appropriate formats, so there is no need to worry about compatibility issues. Other possible operations include making an exact copy of a disc as well as creating and burning a disc image file.

A special mention is deserved by PTPublisher’s disc printing features. In this respect, it comes with a built-in label designer which allows printing directly to disc. Luckily, there is a great collection of templates, which lets you create great labels even if you are not very good at graphic design.

The software is specially intended to work with Primera’s disc publishers, which allow not only burning discs but also printing labels directly to them. In this respect, it is good that the application lets you monitor robot status on-screen and in real time.

All in all, PTPublisher is the perfect companion if you own a Primera disc publisher. It reliably lets you automate the creation of batches of discs. Although the product is free, it is practically useless without the supported hardware.
