Poladroid is an image editor that transforms plain pictures into photos which look like they were made using an old Polaroid device. This free application supports various image formats, immediately generates the altered photos, and has a very intuitive and nicely-designed interface.
The utility also provides you with support for drag-and-drop action so it's very simple to import the photos you wish to edit. After you load the picture, the app immediately generates the Polaroid look-alike photo and you can export it to your local directories.
I really like the fact that when the app generates a photo it shows you in slow motion how the picture is created, kind of like how old Polaroid devices did. Plus, the main window of the app looks like an actual Polaroid camera.
Unfortunately, the program lets you export the resulted pictures to only one output format (JPEG). Hence, other popular image formats, such as PNG, BMP or TIFF are not supported. Another disadvantage is that even though on its homepage it says that the app is written in English, its main menu shows several words which were written in a different language.
Nonetheless, Poladroid is free of charge and provides you with quality images within moments. Plus, it allows you to import and generate multiple pictures at the same time. Hence, it's worth installing this app on your Mac if you're looking for an easy way to turn your pictures into photos that look like they were taken with a Polaroid device.
