PDF-to-Text-Free is a straightforward application designed to extract text content from PDF documents for further editing.
The program comes with a neat and intuitive interface that makes the conversion process easy to carry out. All you need to do is to import the files you wish to convert and select the output format. Loading files is done easily, either by browsing for documents from within the application or simply by dragging and dropping files into the program. What is great about this tool is that it allows you to convert multiple PDF files at once. The output files can be saved as editable TXT or RTFD documents.

The utility provides you with the ability to preview the source files. Unfortunately, the pages are small sized and you can't view the content properly – the text is still unreadable even when enlarging the main window. Therefore, the preview seems to have been designed just to count the pages of large PDF files, not to actually view the content. Another downside is represented by the inability to convert selected pages, a feature that would have been of great help when dealing with big multi-page documents.

All in all, PDF-to-Text-Free offers a convenient and quick solution to convert PDFs into TXT and RTFD format files. The lack of advanced conversion features makes it perfect for users who are looking for a simple and to-the-point application to extract PDF content for editing purposes. Note, however, that you will get better results with documents written in one of the six languages supported.
