MyShoebox is a system utility that can back up your photos to the cloud. It is available for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android, so you can back up all your photos regardless of where they are taken or stored. The service doesn't restrict the number of photos that you can upload or the space that you can use on their servers, but unless you upgrade to the Pro version, you won't be able to view your photos in their full resolutions. You can get free credits to get access to the Pro features by inviting friends to the service.
The first time that you run MyShoebox, you will be asked to register for an account and to choose the folder or folders that you want to sync. The initial upload may take a while depending on the number of photos that you have. When you add new photos to your sync folder they will be automatically uploaded.
You can view your photos from within the application. All your photos will be displayed on the Home screen. Information about your photos is automatically retrieved so your photos can be grouped by event, camera type and even season. When I added photos, the name of the event was the date the photos were taken, and the application offered me to see photos taken in autumn, which is a nice feature, especially when you have lots of pictures.
The search feature lets you find photos taken on a specific day, or with a specific camera in a given location.
In short, Myshoebox is a very nice utility for those who want to backup their photo library to the cloud. If full resolution is something important to you, you might want to upgrade to the Pro version of this app.
