Monolingual is a lightweight system maintenance tool. It is a single-purpose maintenance and optimization tool that allows you to uninstall language files from your Mac.

These language files are what allow your Mac to render application text in several languages. If you find yourself only using English or any other language all the time, you probably don't need all those language files. The list of installed languages on my Mac was very extensive, and I only use English. Monolingual will show you a list of languages and it will automatically check most of them so that you can click on the "Start" button and uninstall them all. It doesn't select all languages by default. The most popular languages are not selected. For example, Spanish, Russian, English, and Norwegian are some of the languages that Monolingual seems to like.

Another set of files that Monolingual can delete are architectures. These are the Mac OS X's components that allow you to run Intel, ARM, and other types of processors. If you have a modern Mac, you only need the Intel component.

I have used this tool in the past when a Mac of mine was running slow. Although I can't say it solved my problem, it certainly deleted a lot of junk from my system.
