Miro Video Converter 2.2

Miro Video Converter is a multi-format video converter. It is an incredibly simple video converter that allows you to convert most video formats to MP4, WebM, and OGG.

The video converter consists of a single window which acts as a drop zone. Any file that you drag and drop there will be added to your queue. You can only add and convert one file at the time, though. Once the file is added, you can select what output format you would like for it from a drop-down menu at the bottom. There are several conversion profiles included, and most of them use the MPEG-4 format for conversion. There are optimized profiles for the iPod, iPhone and iPad, and Android phones, among others.

Miro Video Converter has one key advantage to it: it is dead-simple to use. Even my mother could work with it like a pro. It has a few disadvantages, though. First, it can only process one file at a time. Second, it doesn't have any conversion options other than the profile selection drop-down menu. And, third, it doesn't seem to support MKV files. This last one is only a disadvantage if you plan on using this tool to convert high-definition files.

For quick conversions, this is a great tool, and I recommend it. For anything more complicated, there is always Handbrake.
