MiniNotes Pro is a light and straightforward tool intended to write and keep notes. The program has an extremely basic interface. Moreover, if you do not like the default theme, which resembles wood, you can switch to the dark theme, which, in my opinion, is much nicer. It is a shame that only two themes are available, though.
The tool is quite unobtrusive. In this respect, it can be easily accessed from the menu bar or even docked there for even straighter access. Also, if you prefer so, you can use your favorite key combination. It is great that you can set the window to stay on top of anything else on the screen. Still, if you want to see whatever is beneath, you can change the opacity level of the window.
A new note can be created by clicking on the + button or by programming a hotkey. Fortunately, it is possible to use formatted text (underlined, italics, and bold). Moreover, you can choose your favorite font type and size to use by default in your notes. Yet, it does not support using different font types within a note.
The notes you create are kept in a list from where you can easily access them. In addition, it is possible to find specific notes using keywords. Similarly, the most significant notes can be marked with stars, which lets you filter the list by that criteria.
All in all, MiniNotes Pro lets you take notes and arrange them conveniently. It was evidently created to make things simply. Yet, I wished it would let me insert other types of objects, such as audio and pictures, in my notes. This is a paid product but there is a Lite edition available at no cost.
