iWannaSleep is a program for Mac that comes in handy whenever you want your computer to complete a certain task after a period of time.
In my testing, I selected the Stop iTunes option and set the timer for 3 minutes. Once the countdown hit zero, the iTunes sound volume decreased gradually (I started playing a track before the countdown hit zero) and soon the song stopped playing.
I like the fact that you can choose a custom AppleScript as the countdown action. For instance, once the timer hits zero, it can trigger actions like automatically declining invitations for text chats, counting messages in all mailboxes, etc.
Personally, I would've preferred to enter the number of minutes for the countdown manually. The program only lets you use an integrated jog wheel and set the timer settings.
Nevertheless, the application completes its job right on time. In my opinion, iWannaSleep is definitely worth a try as it brings plenty of useful features, has an intuitive interface, and comes free of charge.
Pros
- Intuitive interface
- Allows you to choose a custom AppleScript as the countdown action
- Sits quietly in the background without using a large amount of CPU resources
Cons
- Unable to enter the amount of minutes manually (you can only spin the jog wheel)
