iFunia MP4 Converter is a utility that can be used to convert video files to MP4 or MP4 files to one of many other popular formats. When you launch the application, you will be asked what type of operation you want to carry out. If you choose the first option, the only two available output formats will be H.264 and MPEG-4, the two most popular codecs used in an MP4 container. On the other hand, if you choose the second option, the number of conversion profiles available will be much greater, but the allowed input formats will be limited to MP4 files.
The application has a very original user interface design. I like iFunia converters mainly because of that. They do not look like every other commercial converter out there. The graphical user interface is simple and responsive. All the conversion settings are located at the bottom of the screen, from where you can choose a profile and set the quality for both audio and video. On the right, you will find a video player that lets you take snapshots of your video in the JPEG format.
In my testing, I converted a 720p MKV video into H.264. 30 seconds of the video were converted in roughly 30 seconds, which is on par with other video converters I have tried in the past. The resulting file looked good, and the sound was fine as well. However, the first few seconds of the video were sloppy. After a little while, the problem went away, though. I tried re-converting the file to see if the problem was an isolated error, but the same happened every time.
