HideSwitch is a simple Mac utility that enables you to quickly display hidden files on your desktop.

You don't need much computer experience in order to work with this application as it comes with simple-to-configure settings and a straightforward interface with only 2 buttons: one for hiding and one for revealing invisible files.

This program comes as an alternative to entering a certain command in the Terminal app (defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES) and restarting Finder. Using this application might help you save some time and efforts. Simply click the "Show Invisibles" button and the utility will immediately apply the changes.

A good thing about HideSwitch is that it supports Finder plugins, such as XtraFinder and TotalFinder. You just need to enable their correspondent options from the Preferences panel of the HideSwitch app.

The only feature I'd personally add to this program would be an option to define a global hotkey for showing hidden files on your computer. Other applications provide you with this characteristic.

Still, HideSwitch comes without a price. Hence, it's up to you to decide if it's worth installing this free application on your computer or try a different utility to immediately revealing the hidden files from your Mac.
