Hides is a simple Menu Bar application that enables you to hide all running programs from your desktop and helps you stay focused on your work without being distracted by other opened tools. This utility is easy to use and requires a small amount of CPU resources.
You can select your own global hotkeys for hiding launched tools and enabling Single App Mode. However, you need to make sure you check the boxes next to these two options or nothing will happen when you press the shortcut keys.
The Single App Mode comes in handy whenever you're working with a certain program and you don't want to be distracted by other opened windows.
Unfortunately, this application is missing plenty of options that might prove to be of good use on busy work days. For instance, the program lacks an Unhide Apps option (you have to unhide app windows manually), doesn't let you conceal desktop icons or choose which apps to exclude from the hiding process.
Even though this application comes with a small price, I still suggest you try other programs when it comes to clearing your desktop from all running apps. Hides lacks plenty of useful options that could increase your productivity and keep you focused on your work.
