GIPHY is a popular website where you can browse and upload GIF collections. GIPHY CAPTURE is a program that enables you to create GIFs on your desktop and share them on the aforementioned page with just a few clicks.
The utility provides you with a quick and simple way to create GIF. Its built-in video recording tool lets you capture anything from your screen, at any resolution you like. You can use shortcut keys to control the video recorder (start and stop recordings), add metadata to your GIFs, and preview the recording before exporting it to the preferred format (GIF or MP4).
In addition, the application gives you access to several editing options. They come in handy if you want to trim or crop your recordings. The program also lets you choose between 3 looping modes: Normal, Reverse, and Pingpong.
Personally, I would've like the app more if it offered me a couple of visual effects to improve my GIFs. Also, it would be great if the developers would add options to pause and resume recordings.
Still, it's worth installing this free program on your Mac if you're the kind of Mac user who spends a lot of time on the GIPHY website and wants to easily share personal GIFs.
