FreeMemory is a nice system maintenance tool for your Mac. It displays the amount of free RAM memory your system has on your Menubar. It updates automatically while it is running. If you click on the application icon on the menubar, a menu will pop-up, giving you access to more information and a few settings. The first item on the menu reads "Free Memory". When you click on that, FreeMemory will free any inactive memory being used by your Mac. In my case, this freed 360 megabytes of RAM. This might not sound like much, but it can be the difference between a slow application and a fast one. The second item is "Usage Details". When you move your mouse pointer over that, you will see how much free, used, total, wired and inactive memory there is. The only setting that you can change is whether you want this app to run when you start your Mac. The only other things that you can do from this menu are to quit the application and to rate it on the Mac App Store, which you totally should. User input is always a great tool to determine if an app works or not.
FreeMemory is currently free on the Mac App Store, so get it while it is. It is not uncommon for these apps to lose their free status after a while.
This app is designed to display and export metadata from .wav and .mp3 files.
