Free42 Binary is an electronic calculator designed in the spirit of the well-known HP-42S Scientific Programmable Calculator and is meant specifically for binary calculations. The app is quite simple to operate, after all, using a calculator is not rocket science for anyone.
The calculator’s appearance can be changed by means of skins. In this respect, there are many downloadable skins, but two of them come in the installation package. My favorite skin is definitely the Realistic, which makes the tool look exactly as the pocket calculator that inspired its creation.
The calculator can be kept on top of all other applications, which facilitates its use together with other tools. As to functions, it supports performing common calculations with binary numbers. Moreover, you can use scientific functions like sine, cosine, tangent, etc. An additional advantage that you could not get from the handheld calculator is that Free42 Binary allows exporting the results of any calculation and keeping an operation log.
All in all, there is not much left to say about this product as it is just a calculator. You should also know that Free42 Binary comes bundled with another similar calculator, but the other is intended to work with the decimal numeric system instead. However, I wish that changing from binary to decimal was as simple as switching between skins. The product is open source so you may want to try it.
