FountainPen is a small open-source program that was designed to be used by professional writers. To create an exceptional work, one must be able to concentrate on their writing and not be distracted or interrupted.
The app comes with its installation dialog. The one where you get to drag the app into your applications folder. This is where you will find your application and can execute it from. Once you've started it, the Welcome Screen will give you a short overview of the program. Since it is small, the introduction is small too. Immediately after that, you can create a file to edit and start working on it.
Markdown, the window where your text will reside, has a very minimalistic design - only four buttons. This is done to not distract you from all the choices for editing your text. This way, you will be fully concentrated on your text rather than concentrated on making it look pretty. The four buttons will be essential in your work. You have access to a dictionary. You can set the goal - the date when your article is due or the amount of words it is supposed to have. You also can see some basic information about your current project, and of course you can see the output in HTML or Rich Text format by hitting the Output button.
There is this one cool feature, called Backdrop. It enlarges the Markdown window and puts a nice background behind it, so you can be inspired to create your best works.
Overall, the program may be extremely helpful to some writers who easily get distracted. Since there aren't many buttons in this program, they get to concentrate on their writing. The program is absolutely free, so no one is gonna get hurt by trying it out.
