Folder Marker is intended to personalize your folders with different colors, icons and text. It comes with an editor to help you in the tasks. The tool is easy to use, so many users can simply learn to use it by themselves. Although there is a series of video to teach the basic functions, they seem not to be enough. Besides, to make things worse, there is no other type of help available.

Good news is the application supports dragging folders straight from Finder and dropping them onto its window. It is also excellent that marking batches of folders is possible, which saves a lot of effort. Another convenient feature is that you can simply pick one of the available templates. What is more, you can save your favorite custom designs as presets to use them later. Another very easy option is to use the FolderMarker Bar available from the status bar icon.

Luckily, there is a simple built-in folder editor, which has tabs intended for different actions. In this regard, you can easily switch between the Icons, Effects, Generic and Text tabs. Thus, it gives you the possibility of adding text, using a folder icon and applying a different color with endless possibilities provided by the Color Wheel. In the case of images, I am glad the tool supports importing them from Finder. Likewise, you can apply various effects, such as adding shadow, using a fill pattern and setting an opacity level. Finally, if you want to save some time, there is always the choice of letting the application use random colors. more
