Files, within any installation, will self-heal if they have been modified without administrator approval. The FileWave client will pull down a new instance of the file that was modified, quickly resolving the installation to the state you intended.
When rolling out a new version of software, you can deactivate the older version, placing it into a hidden location on the hard drive. If your users encounter problems with the new version, you can easily revert back to the previous version of software with no additional network traffic. If there are no problems with the new rollout, the older version of the application can be automatically deleted at a scheduled date and time.
