Fileloupe is intended to overcome some of the limitations you may experience when you use Finder to manage long lists of files. The program has a straightforward interface, which can be customized by hiding panels or switching between the light and dark themes. It also supports various exploration modes. For instance, you can simply scroll through the list as well as inspect file metadata or explore the subfolders.
To use the program, you first need to import the folders you want to explore, which can be done by dragging and dropping them onto its window. Luckily, the tool can perform an almost instant indexation of the contents without needing to make copies of the original data. Then, you can manage the imported files by using filters and flagging the desired items. Likewise, there is a search function to quickly find a given file.
One of the main advantages of Fileloupe is that it supports previewing practically every type of image, movie and document, provided they are natively supported by MacOS. What is more, you can still preview other formats, such as ZIP, CSV and STL, by installing plugins.
In the case of video, Fileloupe lets you adjust playback speed and rotate the image. Moreover, you can use the tool to take snapshots of your favorite frames. As for images, the program can decode the background of RAW photographs, correct rotation problems as well as pan and zoom the previewed image. Finally, it also allows opening two PDF documents side by side to favor comparisons. It is also great that it lets you view non-contiguous pages of the same document. more
