Download Shuttle is a program for Mac that provides you with a quick way to download large files on your local directories.

The application comes with a very intuitive interface, supports downloading multiple files at the same time, and uses a small amount of CPU resources while completing tasks.

All you need to do to start working with this utility is to provide the URL address of the file you wish to copy to your local drives and opt for the proper number of segments (the app divides large files into segments for quicker download). I like the fact that you can always click the Pause button if it takes too long to download the large file and you wish to resume it later.

Furthermore, the application allows you to download as many files as you want at once. The time you spend waiting for the files to be saved depends on your Internet connection signal.

Once the download processes are completed, the program plays a sound alarm at your choice (you can select it from the Preferences menu of the app).

All in all, Download Shuttle is a simple yet very effective application for any Mac user who needs to download large files in a speedy way. However, for downloading small files I'd say you could still use the download manager of your default browser.
