This application is a download manager and accelerator designed for Mac. The utility features a user-friendly interface, automatically detects and imports the URLs you copy to your clipboard, and immediately grabs the data you need from the Internet.

The program comes as an alternative to using your browser's download manager and gives you access to various helpful features. For instance, it allows you to split the files you wish to fetch from the Web into segments to speed up the download.

Once the download process is complete, the application displays a notification under your Menu Bar and plays a sound file. You can then get a small preview of the downloaded file directly from the app's interface and have immediate access to its folder location.

A new helpful feature has been added starting with this version of the app. You can now set the time and date for when a download should start. This feature comes in handy if you want your Mac to download a certain file at a given time of the day, while you're away from your desk.

All in all, Download Shuttle is a simple and effective Mac utility. It works great, supports drag-and-drop actions and batch processing, uses minimum CPU resources, and is free. So, I can't find any reasons why you shouldn't give this program a try.
