DoubleTake is an image editing utility created for Mac users who wish to easily stitch photos to form panoramic pictures. The application features a user-friendly interface, supports drag-and-drop actions, and provides you with multiple output settings to help you get the exact results you need.
The first thing you need to do is to import the images you wish to stitch together. You can load PNG, JPG, PSD, PDF, TIF, GIF or BMP files. The app automatically creates the panoramic photo you need by using one of the 3 output profiles. You can switch to a different stitching profile if needed.
In my testing, I imported 2 sets of images for stitching. The app immediately generated quality panoramic images.
In addition, you can save the resulted panoramic photo to your Photos library or print it directly from the program's interface. Unfortunately, the list of supported formats for exporting panoramic images is quite short. The app supports only 5 popular formats (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, PDF, and JPEG 2000) and another one that's compatible only with DoubleTake.
Another aspect you need to take into consideration is that you can find cheaper solutions for stitching photos to form panoramic images. However, they don't provide you with many output configurations.
Hence, it's up to you to decide based on your requirements if it's worth buying this utility for your Mac or look for a different image editor.
