Cyclone 1.6 beta

Cyclone is a useful piece of software that will help the users to convert between multiple text encodings.

It includes features similar to the ones that Apple's Text Encoding Converter has. Additionally, Cyclone comes with a graphical user-interface that will ease one's work a lot.

The application is quite straightforward to use; simply point to the location of the file (either from the file menu or the use of the available hotkey: command + k) and select input and output text encoding settings. Users can choose between different standards, encodings and variants. When dealing with multiple similar conversion tasks, the last used encoding settings may be saved.

Cyclone provides a few samples of its own in order to illustrate script support for AppleScript: convert clipboard, convert text (Internet name), convert multiple files, convert folder with HTMLs to UTF-8.

Overall, Cyclone runs fast, it is quite simple to use and should save considerable time when converting between multiple sets of character encodings.
