CPU Speed Accelerator is a Mac utility that helps you increase the amount of CPU resources which are being allocated to your foreground apps. The program lives on your Menu Bar from where you can change the way it operates, allows to easily configure settings, and is localized in multiple languages.
Before using this application on your computer you need to enter an administrator password. Afterwards, you can start configuring the program's settings according to your needs. All app settings can be found in the Preferences panel of the utility and can be configured even by a beginner computer user.
The most important option of this app is the one that needs you to select the proper acceleration percentage for the foreground utilities. The program also includes options to automatically check for updates at login, reset the preferences at next launch, and add the app to system login items list.
In my testing, the application worked perfectly. It allocated the CPU resources I needed to my foreground apps, without slowing down the performance of my Mac in the process.
My only issue with this app is that it's a bit pricey considering what it can do. There's a Terminal command that does exactly the same thing. You can also find cheaper Mac utilities that have the same functionality as this program has.
Set reminders, count time, and view clocks for various timezones.
Test the thermal limits or battery life of your Mac.
Program which graphically shows the memory.
Application that graphs your current CPU usage
This application shows the current CPU usage in a floating square meter.
