Calories 3 is an application that lets you keep track of your diet. As the name suggests, you can input the foods that you eat to calculate your daily calorie count, which is the most important aspect of your diet. But it also lets you add your activities during the day. With this information, the application calculates whether you spend more calories than you intake, and it lets you make changes to your diet or to your physical activities to achieve your weight goals.
For the application to do a good job, it needs data about you. So it is important that you don't skip any of the fields in the user configuration screen. The most important information is weight and height. With that, the app can already calculate your basal metabolic rate, which is the number of calories that your body uses to maintain its vital functions like breathing, brain activity, etc.
When you are done with the configuration, which is a very quick process, you can start adding foods and activities. The app has an impressive list of foods. It will suggest foods as you type. So, say you breakfast with Frosted Flakes by Kellogs. You can then click on "Breakfast", add a new food, and start typing "Frosted". The app will suggest the food by Kellogs and add it for you. Each food in the list has nutritional information like calories per serving, amount of proteins, carbs and fats. The process is similar for activities. I added Basketball to mine, and the app told me that an hour of playing hoops made me burn 600 calories. more
