Bioshock 1.0

Bioshock is a first-person shooter and adventure game. It was released for a variety of different platforms, and Feral Interactive brings you the Mac port of the game.

Without spoiling anything for you, I'll say that at the beginning of the game, the plane you were on crashes in the Atlantic Ocean. The year is around 1960. By accident, you find an entrance to a submarine city called Rapture. You soon find yourself exploring the city and all the secrets that it holds.

The game is elegantly designed and it provides a great atmosphere. When I first played it on the Xbox 360, I thought I was playing in a real movie. The graphics were awesome, there were great sound and video effects and the story was compelling. Now, the Mac version should play just as well, but as it is the case with other video games ported to the Mac, don't expect the best graphics or performance. From my time with it, I didn't experience any problems with the game on the Mac. The installation process was rather quick.

If you haven't played this game and are looking to play more on your Mac, Bioshock is as good a place as any to start.
