Vox is a flexible and full of capabilities player that allows you to listen to your favorite tracks and radio podcasts from your Mac. You can use this program to create music playlists, find and stream radio stations from all over the world, listen to SoundCloud tracks, and much more.
The app lets you import music from your iTunes library or local folders, configure equalizer settings according to your requirements, and search for any songs within the loaded playlists. Furthermore, you can work with this media tool to listen to dozens of radio stations and get direct access to their correspondent websites.
Personally, I prefer installing and using this app on my Mac for playing tracks instead of working with iTunes as the latter one fails to offer me all the features I require. For instance, unlike Vox, iTunes lacks Menu Bar controllers and SoundCloud integration (I listen to SoundCloud music almost every day).
In addition, this Vox release provides you with an additional feature: it allows you to stream YouTube clips or playlists directly from its interface.
To sum things up, Vox is a competent and feature-rich program that lets you listen to music from various sources (Internet, iTunes or local directories) on your Mac.
