Captur comes as an alternative to entering the default screen capture command in the Terminal app whenever you need to take a snapshot of you screen. The program lives on your Menu Bar from where you can select the screen capturing mode and configure its settings according to your needs.
This application features four screen capturing methods, each with a nice graphic and a description in the main menu of the program. Before taking any screenshots you need to configure the settings from the Preferences panel. There you will find various output options for including the mouse cursor in the screenshot, selecting the format of the snapshot, etc.
In my testing, the utility worked flawlessly and offered me quality output images.
However, this screen capture application lacks some useful features. For example, you don't have access to any image editing options. Various screen capturing tools provide you with options for adding text content to snapshots, arrows, etc.
Another thing that bothers me is that it doesn't offer you an option to define global hotkeys for immediately taking the screenshots.
Still, Captur is a free Mac program. So, you have nothing to lose by installing it on your computer.
