Captur is a simple Menu Bar utility that's basically the interface of Mac OS screen capturing command. You can work with this program whenever you need to capture a window or a certain area from your desktop and share the image with others.
As the developer mentions on his homepage, you can see what the utility can do in the Terminal app by writing 'screencapture --help'. You won't understand much from the window if you're an average computer user. That is why, Captur was created to help novice Mac users to take screenshots with minimum effort.
From the Preferences menu you can select the preferred output format (JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, and BMP) and the destination folder as well as configure several settings. You can disable the sound effects (for instance, the sound the app makes when taking screenshot), include the time and date info into the screenshot, set the timer delay values, etc.
The output quality is excellent and the program is very simple to handle. Plus, it gives you direct access to Mac default image viewer and editor (Preview) in case you wish to alter the final screenshot.
The one thing I'd add to this program is an option to define global hotkeys for taking screenshots.
All in all, Captur is a great utility for Mac users. It's very simple to use, offers you quality results, and is free.
