XPS file format was created by the Microsoft company as an alternative to PDF. Unfortunately, Mac OS X doesn't provide you with a default utility for opening and reading this type of files.
The program comes with a straightforward interface, gives you access to a wide range of reading options, and offers you the possibility to print XPS files directly from its interface. Furthermore, it brings you an integrated search utility which comes in handy if you're reading an XPS files that contains a large amount of pages and wish to immediately find a word or phrase within the text.
Another great aspect about this application is the fact that it can export XPS documents to various file formats. XPS-Reader supports the following output formats: JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, TXT, JP2, GIF, and BMP.
My only problem with this utility is the fact that it isn't completely free. You need to make an in-app purchase to have access to the full version of the program. Until then, you can only read half of the amount of pages from the imported XPS document.
Still, the in-app purchase won't empty your bank account as it's very cheap and definitely worth it if you're working with XPS files on a daily basis.
