VLC media player is a good program for Mac and it is fast and reliable. However, if you are experiencing poor performance, it might be due to an old version, so updating the program to the latest version may help.
My VLC Media Player stopped playing MKV videos these days. I checked the settings of VLC and I did not figured out a solution. Who knows other reliable software that can play MKV and other videos?

In order to delete the history, please open the VLC first then navigate to: File -> Open Recent -> Click on “Clear Menu” and restart the software again. It is a simple yet useful step.
