Perform conversion operations for almost any type of video. Work with standard media files, as well as specialized footage created with a point-and-shoot camera or a cell phone, as well as captured from a desktop or a television screen with a gaming console.
Vidsify Lite is the trial version of Vidsify, a nice video converter. It allows you to convert videos encoded using several different formats into files that will play on your Mac, iPhone (1, 3G, 3GS, 4 and 4S), iPad 1, 2 and the New iPad, iPod Touch, AppleTV, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Those are the most popular multimedia playback devices. Other devices will also probably play files converted using this app. The input formats supported are MKV, WMV, AVI, MPG, MP4/M4V, MOV, FLV, and RM. Vidsify Lite encodes video using H.264 and audio using AAC.
This app sports a nice interface which is incredibly easy to use. All you have to do is to load the files that you want to convert and then check one of the target devices at the bottom of the screen. On your first conversion, you will be told that this app should only be used with videos that do not infringe copyrights. You can ask the app not to show this warning again. After that, you simply select a target destination and the conversion will start.
While testing, I loaded an MKV file and I checked the iPad 2 box. The file was converted into an M4V file and it played great on VLC.
Vidsify Lite can only convert files shorter than 5 minutes. If you want to convert longer files, you need to upgrade to the paid version.
