USBMate is a program for Mac that helps you optimize the way your USB drives, external hard disks, and Flash memory cards operate. This application erases temporary files left by the OS X (.DS_Store and .Trashes files) and cleans all autorun viruses from the connected drive.
The utility sits quietly on your Menu Bar and uses a small amount of CPU resources while it operates. All you need to do in order to work with this app is to select the device you wish to clean up (it should be listed within the main menu of the app) and the program will do the rest.
After USBMate finishes the scan and erases the unneeded content from the drive, it ejects the device. Then, the app provides you with a detailed log that shows which files were removed from the drive.
Another good aspect is that the program works with various models of USB drives, Flash memory cards, and external hard disks.
Other than that, not much more can be said about USBMate. This application is very simple to handle, immediately gets its job done, comes with a very reasonable price.
