Ultra Translator is a nice translation tool for your Mac.

Ultra Translator is a nice translation tool for your Mac. It is also available for iOS devices like iPods, iPhones and iPads.

The app provides you with quick machine translations from three services: Google, Microsoft and Yahoo!. You can easily switch among them to see which one gives you the best translation. As it is to be expected, no machine translation will replace a human translator whatsoever, but some of these translations are very good, even almost perfect.

Ultra Translator makes it easy for you to translate text in Safari or any other Cocoa application on your Mac. Once activated, all you have to do is select the text that you want to convert and then right-click on it and on 'translate'. A new window will appear showing you the translation. At the top is the language pair, or the languages that you want to convert from and into, and at the bottom, you will see three buttons that read: Google, Microsoft and Yahoo!. Clicking on them will give you different translations. At least into Spanish, the best machine translator is Google, followed by Yahoo.

The only thing I did not like about Ultra Translator is that you have to go to the System Preferences to activate it. Other than that, the app works great, it is stable and it even allows you to use text-to-speech to read your translations out aloud.

Here are some promotional codes that can be redeemed on the App Store and iTunes, courtesy of the developer. They are offered in a first-come, first-serve basis.
