Info updated on:

Uberstrike HD is a first-person shooter for the Mac. It is a multiplayer game that has been recently upgraded with HD textures that make the game look a way better than the previous versions. I played the team deathmatch mode for about 25 minutes and I enjoyed my time.

The first thing you have to do is to sign up to create an account. All you need is a valid e-mail address - the registration process is quite easy. After that, you can customize your character: change its costumes and items. As you play the game, you will earn gold (or points) for each kill or good performances. After a while, you will be able to buy new weapons and costumes with those points.

There are quite a few locations for you to play on. The ones that I tried were interesting. There were bonuses all over the place which restored your health and gave you armor. You can also pick up ammo and better weapons. What I found most interesting was how you could use platforms to jump all over the place. This reminded me a lot of Sonic.

In short, this is not a realistic FPS. So, don't expect it to be a competitor to Call of Duty of Battlefield. Still it is a great game that should keep you entertained for a while. It is now free for a limited time, so grab it while it is hot.

Allows you to enjoy the fight while shooting things. The only thing that felt awkward was the absence of any arms holding the gun. Somehow I got used to this little aspect of shooters, when you at least get to see your hands. Still it is free and this compensates for that little drawback.
